A Global Response to
a Global Crisis

The COVID-19 Critical Care Consortium (COVID Critical), is a global alliance of healthcare professionals and researchers committed to identifying the most effective treatments for critically ill COVID-19 patients.

Through data modelling, COVID Critical has been able to generate clinical insights about COVID-19, a disease that was completely unknown before January 2020.

We brought together a collaboration of more than 400 hospitals and affiliated research centres from 64 countries to build a global database of de-identified information on treatment outcomes for critically ill COVID-19 patients.

... but what you should be extremely proud of and humbled by is the enduring impact this group and your research will have globally. This will benefit generations of patients and their caregivers for many, many years to come.
— John Fraser, Director, Critical Care Research Group
We are filled with hope and optimism for the enduring legacy that COVID Critical will leave.

Messages of Support

What is unusual about this group is the friendships... in other major medical research, this does not exist. This group are friends... [and] they’re devoted to critically ill patients.
— Prof Robert Bartlett, Founder, ELSO

The multidisciplinary nature of people coming together—clinician, researcher, scientist, computer scientist—makes this collaboration special.
— David Sibbald OBE, Aridhia Informatics

During the pandemic, CCRG single-handedly assembled a global alliance of health care professionals to support those at the coalface. This will have an impact on the way medical research operates for generations to come.
— Dr Leticia Helms MD, PGY1 Internal Medicine, Columbia Medicine Residency

This is true science to me…That’s why I get excited!
— Dr Mark Ogino MD, International President, ELSO, COVID Critical Steering Committee

I realized that I was a part of something that has never happened in medicine before, to my knowledge. This is an example of how medicine should be perceived in the future.
— Prof Glenn Whitman, Johns Hopkins Hospital

Clinician-designed during the pandemic, the COVID Critical Dashboard was co-developed with Aridhia Informatics.

Visit their website to learn more about the technology, described by JAMA as a ‘quantum shift’ in international research collaborations.
